Frequently asked questions
Wondering how to format your guest list? Pricing for envelope addressing? If Grace teaches classes? You aren't alone!
Answers to the most frequent questions we receive are below.
Envelope Addressing
I need one week for every 100 envelopes (or envelope sets). If you have a shorter timeline, I might be able to accommodate a rush for an additional charge depending on other items on my production calendar.
How soon should I book you? And how long will it take you to address my envelopes? Is a rush job an option?
Ideally, you should book me as soon as possible (even before you design your invitation). For reference, my production calendar for larger weddings often fills four to five months in advance. It's never too soon to reserve your spot.

NOTE - write out all abbreviations (state names, street names, etc.) I will pen EXACTLY what you include on your guest list.
What format should my guest list be in?
Please submit your guest list in Excel. I have a preferred guest list template and I'll happily send it to you.

Other Services
What services do you offer?
I provide invitation calligraphy, envelope addressing, calligraphy hand engraving, leather embossing, foil lettering, and event calligraphy. I am available to travel to provide calligraphy on location.
Would you write this quote for me? Or song lyrics? Or wedding vows?
I am always so incredibly flattered that someone would choose my work to adorn their walls or to give as a gift. Unfortunately, my production calendar cannot accommodate these at this time.
Calligraphy Advice
How did you learn calligraphy? Do you teach lessons?
I took my first lessons from Deb Warnat in Birmingham, and I definitely recommend her courses. While there are lots of online courses, I found it extremely beneficial to learn in person. At this time, I do not teach calligraphy.
There is no substitute for hours (and years) of practice. It's how you form muscle memory and perfect your art. So...practice, practice, and practice some more! I recommend not going more than a few days without picking up your pen and doing consistent drills and practice. Also, be sure to use good supplies. For the most part, these can't be purchased at big box stores (like Hobby Lobby and Michael's). In the Birmingham area, I recommend shopping at Alabama Art Supply. Another wonderful resource for calligraphy supplies is Paper and Ink Arts in Nashville.
I'm beginning to learn calligraphy. Do you have any advice?
How wonderful! You will enjoy learning and perfecting this art for decades to come!
